There are a few theories of psychology that have helped to develop the field of coaching. One theory is Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) that has learning occur through a stimulus and response, and connections with thinking and choice, which determines behavior and understanding the meaning of events. There are similarities and differences between positive psychology and coaching.
