The paper will require each student to demonstrate their knowledge and assimilation of the issues within the criminal justice world. The paper, once approved, must be from one of the following topics:
1. Youth Sentenced to Life without Parole; Is this an ideal punishment; Why or why not.
2. Should Juveniles be tried as adults: Why or why not.
Both sides of the argument must be expressed.
Students are expected to write one concise and succinct paper that synthesizes these ideas and themes in the reading and lectures and reflect critical analysis.
For this project, students will prepare the paper in the format prescribed by the American Psychological Association 7th ed (APA) and Microsoft Word or compatible document. This is not a group project; no collaboration is permitted.
Grading the Paper: Use multiple sources in each paragraph figure 8.1, page 254 APA, 7th.Ed
• 15 points for content and development (all relevant points are covered and through development of topic material).
• 10 points for organization (a logical sequence is followed, and organization of thought is apparent).
• 10 points for format and length (APA format, citing of references, length, readability, style, punctuation, grammar, spelling, sentence structure, professional and academic vocabulary, APA 7th ed).
Required Formatting and Submission Details.
• Formatting – (APA, 7th ed.).
• Font: Time New Roman, 12-point.
• Paragraph: Double spaced, one-inch margins on all sides.
• 10-page minimum; not including Title & references.
• A minimum of fifteen (15) references that are academic scholarly.
• The textbook can be used.
