Instructions: One of the presentations this week was on selecting books for children. As a future teacher or person who works with children, it is critical that you are familiar with the process for selecting books for children, and aware of the resources available to you in doing so.
After viewing the multi-media presentation, create a child (fictional, or can be based on a real child) for whom you will create a profile. In your response, describe the child’s
Gender
Chronological age, grade level
Emotional maturity level
Reading level (guided reading and independent reading)
Interests
Other information pertinent to this child which may guide the book selection process
Then, using one of the book selection engines described in the presentation, select three books that you would select for the child, based on the child’s information described previously. For each book, describe in detail why that book would be appropriate for this child.
Be sure to include in-text citations and a reference list in APA format.
