This assessment is a clarifying exercise. In it, you are required to pick atopic and provide your own account in your own words of the issues at stakeinrespect tothe policy problemand also an account of who the key policy actors and/or stakeholders are and what positions they holdwith respect to these issues. Using your own words, you are required to derive this account fromthe general information provided in the lecture and thekey readings and/or resources from the week, supplemented with your own research as necessary. In approaching this assessment,you are thus required to listento the lectures with afocus on the lecture that concerns your chosen policy issue. You are required to do the readings andconsider the resources for the week/issue you have chosen. You may then research the topic more broadly. When doing so, take notes. Consider;
In this first, formative, assessment you are required to write a paper describing the issues at stake in this debate. To focus the discussion we want you to structure your response in two parts:
An account of two or three major issues at stake in this policy debate. In developing this sections, you need to include at least four ‘quality’ sources in developing your account (approx. 600 words).
An identification of up to three key stakeholders as well as the general positions they hold on this issue (approx. 200 words).
In developing your response, you will be required to draw on the general information provided in your respective Week 9 lecture video as well as the additional resources from that week. You may supplement this further with your own research as necessary
