The purpose of this assessment task is to:
• critique a youth policy;
• evidence the impact the policy has on young people and youth work; and
• understand the impact this has on marginalised groups particularly young people.

The learning outcomes assessed for this assessment item are:
• LO 3: Analyse the broader impact of policy in constructing social indicators particularlyin developing equitable outcomes;
• LO 4: Determine the role of policy in constructing a fair society;
• LO 5: Articulate their development of skills and knowledge about the theory/s thatunderpin and involves youth policy; and
• LO 6: Adapt knowledge of the different processes and mechanisms that may be undertakento develop and formulate youth policy.
Instructions
To get started on your Major Report, please follow the instructions below.
1. Pick a youth policy and analyse it. Please note: Ifyou choose a policy that is not listed in the existing policy list, you need to seek approval from your teacher before starting your analysis.
2. Then summarise the policy and what it aims to do.
3. Then critique the policy in relation to whether it achieves those aims in relation to young people.
4. Finally what is the impact for youth work?
